Earn your APICS Certification in 2012
APICS Tampa Bay is offering the following courses through its education provider, Quality Management Solutions, Inc.
- Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) course starting January 24, 31, Feb. 7, & 14 from 1 PM to 5 PM with a registration deadline of January 10, 2012.
- Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) course starting Feb. 21, 28, March 6, & 13 from 1 PM to 5 PM with a registration deadline of January 10, 2012.
- Detailed Scheduling and Planning (DSP) course starting Feb 1, 8, 15, & 22 from 10 AM to 2 PM with a registration date of January 23, 2012.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) course starting Feb. 16, 23, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, & April 5 from 1 PM to 5 PM with a registration date of Feb. 6
All courses are comprehensive on-line 100% synchronous, instructor-led delivered in virtual sessions. The material is introduced from concept definition to application in a multitude of business environments. The class size is limited allowing each student complete access to the instructor for their questions.

Manufacturing, Logistics and Transportation in Florida's K-14 Education System
Professional Development Meeting

APICS Tampa Bay (The Association for Operations Management) invites Tampa Bay area operations management and supply chain professionals to our February Professional Development Meeting on February 7, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at Bascoms Chop House, 3665 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater FL 33762. Our speaker is Dr. Marilyn Barger, Principal Investigator and Executive Director of FLATE, the Florida Regional Center of Advanced Technological Education. She will be speaking on the topic of "Manufacturing, Logistics and Transportation in Florida's K-14 Education System".
The Florida Advanced Technological Education (FLATE) is Florida's National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education (NSF ATE) Center of Excellence serving the state of Florida and is housed in the Tampa Bay area at Hillsborough Community College's Brandon Campus with the college's Engineering Technology A.S. Degree. The NSF ATE program is focused on improving the quality and quantity of 2 year technicians that support a wide range of advanced and emerging technologies and their application sectors. FLATE is one of 42 networked Centers working together across the country to advance technician education and partnering with industry for a new American workforce. FLATE's technology focus is advanced manufacturing.
This presentation will discuss the current status of manufacturing, logistics, transportation education in Florida's K-14 education systems. Dr. Barger will also present an overview of the FLATE Center's activities since it was first funded in 2004, focusing on three areas of outreach, professional development and curriculum reform for 2 year degree programs in Florida.
