PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

JUNE 2009

Keith J. Chaisson

The Board of Directors election is complete. The elected board is announced at the June Professional development Meeting and will be seated at the beginning of the new Chapter year July 1, 2009.

Additionally, June marks the last PDM for the 2008/2009 year. It has been a very interesting year with our huge joint meeting in December where we hosted a networking meeting for 12 individual societies and other APICS chapters. We set a record of 90 people attending. We plan to do that again this December 2009. We also had our first plant tour in a couple years graciously hosted by Linvatec and a truly enjoyable meeting it was.

Our Career Services group has been working at new ways assist members during these tough economic times. Utilizing current communications techniques, the group communicates using LinkedIn as a communication tool. Speaking of communications, we have been looking at the ways we communicate with our members. I'll be sending out a short survey later this month to help us determine how you prefer to get communications. It will be very short and we'd appreciate your help.

With the new year beginning the first of July, we will be doing our membership survey that we do every three years. This is vital information that helps us determine how ot go about helping you get the maximum benefit of your membership. When that comes out, we would appreciate your participating with your feedback.

Here is where I would normally say, "Unitl Next Month." However, my term as Chapter President is coming to an end and the new Chapter President will be communicating with you next month. It has been a true pleasure to have served you as your Chapter President for the last couple years. They have been two very good years and I hope we were able to help you get the most benefit from your membership.

So I close with, Until the next PDM in September.....

Best Regards,
Keith J. Chaisson
