November 2006 Professional Development Meeting Speaker: Debra Hansford, CPIM, CIRM, CSCP Topic: ìSix Sigma 101- A Favorite Six Sigma Tool" Tuesday, November 14th, 2006 Tucsonís, Clearwater 13563 Icot Blvd Clearwater, FL 33760 5:30-6:30 Social/Networking Hour 6:30-8:00 Dinner and Speaker Presentation A pleasant, cool Fall's greeting to my fellow chapter members, guests and friends. November marks the first Professional Development Program of our two-part series on Six Sigma. Perhaps when you first think of Six Sigma, what comes to mind are long, tedious and complicated statistical equations. You might not realize that there are also many non-statistical measures that can be applied to your application that could provide quick and effective results. For those of us who have small children, or know small children, we recognize the continuous "Why?" question. As adults, we can incorporate this type of questioning to identify and verify causes of errors! Please come to our Professional Development Program and join us as we reintroduce the concept of "The Five Whys". This is actually a Six Sigma tool that you don't need to have a calculator and memorize formulas! As a group, we will conduct a "Five Why" session and discuss business situations where this exercise could be fruitful. Please make your plans now to attend, and place your reservations with Tom Kilty at QMSKilty@ij.net by end-of-business Friday November 10th. Be sure to invite your colleagues or others who might benefit from this topic and professional presentation.
Best regards. Craig Williams, CPIM APICS-FLWC VP Programs |
