As 2007 comes to an end, the entire Florida West Coast Chapter Board of
Directors wishes you and your family a safe and happy holiday season.
There will be no Professional Development Meeting this month. Our next
meeting will be January 8th with Harvey McChesney III, CPIM. Of all the
speakers at the International Conference in Denver, Harvey had the second
highest speaker rating as rated by Conference attendees. So plan on
attending, you won't be disappointed.
It is said that the only consistent thing in life is changeÖand that
is true in FLWC. Last year Linda Hermann took over for Craig Williams
as VP of Programs when Craig moved to North Carolina for a short time.
Linda has taken a new job and her travel schedule will prevent her from
fulfilling those responsibilities. Since Craig is back, he will return
to the position of VP of Programs. Did someone mention dÈjý vu? We wish
Linda the best in her new endeavors. And we welcome Craig back.
We think 2008 is going to be a stellar year for APICS. It begins the
second 50 years of APICS. It also beings new collaborative alliances
with The Aberdeen Group, The American Management Association and the
Institute of Business Forecasting. You will be seeing more on this soon,
but these alliances allow members to access the resources of the organizations
either free or at their member rates. Expect more news in the future of further
alliances and agreements with other professional organizations.
What are you doing in June? Our June meeting ends the season. We have tried a
couple different things. In the January newsletter we will have a link to take
an electronic survey to vote for your choices for the June meeting.
