The Personal Development Program (PDP) is an opportunity to stay abreast of the leading edge theories and techniques of operations management. The advancing of your skill set is a step to winning in the competitive world of employment. The next Personal Development Program is September 11, 2007. The topic is: Cleaning up your ERP/MRP Painlessly. One of the biggest problems MRP/ERP users must deal with on a day-to-day basis is Ö.. 'bad', inaccurate data. Data that contaminates the system and causes the output to be 'questionable' at best, 'completely unbelievable' at worst. This presentation will offer a 'painless' process for remedying this situation once and for all. A process that proposes to improve the integrity and usefulness of the MRP/ERP database and therefore improve the believability of the entire MRP/ERP system. [View More....] The purpose of the APICS PDP sessions is to build knowledge and skills in operations management professionals to enhance and validate abilities and accelerate careers. Success in building the knowledge and skills is through Lifelong Learning. Valuing lifelong learning says "I am responsible for my success!" Our PDP meetings are focused on education based on proven best practices, delivered by world-class instructors with years of experience as practitioners and educators on topics related to supply chain management, manufacturing, enterprise resources planning and production and inventory management. The speakers have been tasked with delivering a "take home" in every session. This "take home" will be concepts or tools that you should be able to immediately use. Our theme goes hand in hand with valuing lifelong learning-"I am responsible for my success!" The theme is Barking With the Big Dogs. The knowledge and skills you will acquire from active participation in APICS, to include PDP meetings and the various paths to obtaining CPIM and CSCP certifications should assist you in being more valuable and competitive in your own work environments as well as in the market. The same is true for companies as for individuals. Companies with employees knowledgeable and skilled in proven best practices will be in a better position to compete with companies of any size.
