Professional Development Meeting February 12, 2008 Tucson's Restaurant and Grille 13563 Icot Blvd. Clearwater, FL 33760 Speaker: Alan L. Milliken CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP Topic: Harnessing the Power of Supply Chain Metrics Greetings to my fellow APICS FLWC members, friends and guests: It is a well-known truth that the first step in addressing a problem is identifying the problem. In the business and operations world, knowing where your successes are, and more importantly, where your problems are, often falls into the realm of effective performance measurements, or metrics. It is a lesser-known truth that the implementation of a measurement process can affect the performance of the subject being measured, simply because now somebody is actually paying attention. Therefore, it is important that implementation of any performance measurement process be carefully evaluated for appropriateness, effectiveness simplicity and accuracy. The right implementation of metrics can add significant value to your operationís performance. Conversely, the wrong use of metrics can leave you chasing your tail while your competition leaves you in the dust. Our speaker for our February Professional Development Program, Alan L. Milliken CFPIM CIRM CSCP, will present to our chapter a comprehensive program that details and structures the application of strategic and tactical supply-chain metrics. Alanís presentation will offer this ěhow-toî approach combined with case studies at BASF. I would like to take this opportunity to ask that you consider inviting any of your professional colleagues to join you in attending this very informative presentation. We are always pleased and complimented to see new faces at our meetings. Please place your reservation to attend by Friday February 8th by clicking on the below link, emailing Tom Kilty at Tom Kilty, or calling 727-725-7674. Thank you very much, and best regards.
