Spring greetings to my fellow APICS FLWC members, guests and friends:

Spring is now upon us, the Tampa Rays are in first place, and we are two more meetings away from finishing up our 2007-2007 season of APICS Professional Development Meetings. Our May 2008 meeting brings to us Mike Ford, who has more credentials behind his name than Jerry Kilty. In addition, we are hosting our annual Joint APICS-ISM meeting, so our friends from ISM will be in attendance, which will be an excellent networking opportunity.

If you were only going to attend just one APICS PDP this season, this is the meeting NOT to miss. Dynamic is not even an adequate enough term to describe Mikeís presentation style and passion for his subject. Mikeís topic for the evening is ìHow to Plan, Schedule and Sequence for Demand-Based Manufacturingî. In todayís turbulent economy, manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, etc. are recognizing that rapid and accurate response to customer demand is now required to compete. Mikeís philosophy behind this presentation is LEAN based, focusing on minimizing all inventories while maintaining high levels of customer demand satisfaction.

Mikeís presentation will focus on hands-on, quantitative approaches to maximizing performance in this area. Please bring your pocket calculator and a pencil ñ itís going to be a fun and challenging evening.

Keith J. Chaisson Time has come to hold our annual Board of Directors elections. The election will be held the entire month of May. There will be three ways to vote: at the May PDP, by mail to the Chapter's PO Box and by electronic vote. There will be an electronic link to the electronic voting site. The elected board is announced in June and will be seated at the beginning of the new Chapter year July 1, 2008. [Click Here....]

You need to enter you name and membership number (we can help if you can't find it but the name needs to be correct). Select the Board's recommendation or write in someone you feel would be qualified for that position. The votes will be counted and the new Board will be announced at the June meeting.
