Autumn greetings! (almost)

Itís time to kickoff our Professional Development Programs (PDP) for the 2009-2010 season. I hope you all had a nice summer. I have good financial news. Current APICS members with active status have had their PDP fees reduced from $30 to $20. As an active APICS member, attending all ten PDP functions this season will save you $100. Students (with school ID) fees dropped from $15 to $10. Guests and inactive APICS members will continue to pay the current $30 fee until their membership status is initiated or renewed. Cash, check or charge at the door.

We have lined up great technical speakers with pertinent topics this season, we are hosting our second annual very successful Networking PDP in December, and we will be having another plant tour in May, location under review. If your company is willing or you know of someone to host a tour of their facility, please contact me directly at craigwilliams58@hotmail.com or call me at 727-798-3072.

To kick off the 2009-2010 season, our own Joe Kirchner, CPIM will present his topic, ìSupplier Partnership - A Supply Chain Management Success Storyî. Joe has over 30 years of SCM leadership and consulting experience in a variety of industries. Joe has been an active leader, instructor and member of APICS since 1976. Joe will be a presenting a Supply Chain Management Case Study on addressing change in the Forecasting and Production Planning processes to drive Inventory, Customer Service, and Financial Performance improvements.

Please make your reservations now to attend a great presentation, network, eat a great meal and earn a certification maintenance point. Bring a colleague. See you then!

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
SEPTEMBER 2009
Peter J. Christiano

Welcome to the APICS Florida West Coast Chapter 2009/2010 season. We are planning an exciting season of professional development meetings and we will be doing many things that are focused on maximizing your membership.

During this coming year we will do our membership survey that looks at what we do and how you feel we are doing. This is important to us on the Board of Directors so we can make decisions on improving your experience. Please help us with this survey when it is presented. We plan to do many more surveys to gather additional feedback from you.

This year we will hold our huge networking opportunity with other local professional societies. This was a huge success last year and the feed back we received was very positive. The collaboration with the other societies expose everyone to additional resources and information that may not have been readily identified previously.

As I begin my year as Chapter President, I wish to ask for your feedback as to what we can do to maximize your membership. Feel free to contact me and I'll see you at the professional development meetings.

Best Regards,
Peter J. Christiano
