PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
June 2006
Rick Hollingsworth, CPIM, CSCP
Wow! What a quick year this has been. Before we break for the summer, I would like to say just a few words about the state of the chapter.
Our group has faired well and continues to be a "disproportionately successful" chapter.
I hope everyone who attended had fun at our first Dinner Cruise aboard the Show Queen. Hopefully, we can continue this as a traditional year-end wrap-up.
Programs for next year will be a mix of 6-Sigma, Lean, and Supply Chain as the core topics. An innovative approach to bring the best talent will include an opportunity to attend a more in-depth seminar with each speaker on the day of the PDP. We also will make an effort to share costs of our speakers through a partnership with our sister chapter in Sarasota.
The new CSCP program produced its first wave of Certified Supply Chain Professionals. Our chapter has 4 of the 508 that passed for the March seating. We are:
Charles Andrews
Rick Hollingsworth
Jerry Kilty
Kumar Paramasiva
The next test is in June with a third in December. I fully expect our chapter to produce another disproportionately high number of CSCP's. Of course Jerry Kilty is available for any of your test preparation needs.
From a financial perspective, we have maintained our non-profit status by adding a modest $54 to the books.
Our membership continues to hover around the 280 mark with a net gain of 1 member for the year.
Finally, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Board of Directors. Our board is able to maintain full time jobs, families and still has time to put forth the effort to keep our chapter running. We have new faces joining us next year to give us a fresh perspective as well as our old guard who have been the strong foundation that keeps us in balance. I am honored to work with such a great group and look forward to next year.
Have a safe and prosperous summer.
See you in September.
